We have recently been engaged to attend to the above property after hours as an emergency call out. Upon arrival we identified that there was no hot water and noticed the pilot light on the gas storage unit had blown out and was not on. We re-lit the pilot light as needed to get hot water to the property.
We carried out the following:
* Attended after hours
* Assured the gas control valve to the heater is in the on position
* Depress button as necessary to assure gas bypass
* Press ignite button and assure pilot light has started burning
* Hold button for 20 seconds then release
* Burner proved to light and continued to heat the water tank
* Tested all good
We could not be 100% sure of the cause of the pilot light going out but if it were to happen again in the future, parts may be required to replace it.
