We have recently been engaged to attend to the above property after hours as an emergency call out. Due to the danger of a gas leak we attended site with urgency to assess the issue. Upon our inspection we identified the smell of the gas to be localised in the We found a section of pipework which was leaking gas and required immediate attention. In this instance we identified that the gas service was gal pipework and was rusted out in a section.
We carried out the following:
* Isolated the gas
* Purge out the excess pressurised gas
* Weld over the affected section of pipework
* Allow to cool and reinstate gas
* Cut through gas service
* Undo the sections of gal to expose the next best gal thread
* Supply & install copper as needed to be in place in this situation
* Weld up as necessary
* Turn gas on
* Test and commission service.
